KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has decided to begin the vote count in Bajura and Syangja-2 constituencies of the House of Representatives from Wednesday.
The EC decided against going for the repolls, stating that all the ballot boxes have already been collected by fulfilling due procedures.
EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma said vote counting in Syangja and Bajura will begin from Wednesday by holding all-party meetings.
Counting was put off in Syangja after UML accused Nepali Congress of booth cature. In Bajura, repolling was done in one polling center where voting was postponed following clashes between two parties.
In Bajura, the main competition will be between Karna Thapa of UML and Badri Pandey of Nepali Congress. Similarly, Nepali Congress Vice President Dhanaraj Gurung and UML Secretary Padma Aryal are contesting in Syangja-2.
