KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA) Chairperson Surya Prasad Silwal.
The constitutional anti-graft body filed the case at the Special Court on Monday, charging him with tampering with citizenship and passport documents.
The CIAA) has also accused Silwal of misusing his position by remaining in the office of the NIA for the past nine months despite being required to retire compulsorily at the age of 65.
The CIAA has further alleged that Silwal altered his educational certificates and manipulated data records.
