KATHMANDU: A charge sheet has been filed against Rabi Lamichhane, president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party and former Deputy Prime Minister, at the Chitwan District Court on Tuesday in connection with the Sahara Chitwan Multipurpose Cooperative fraud case.
According to Amrit Bishwakarma, the information officer of the Chitwan District Court, a supplementary charge sheet has been filed against Lamichhane, along with former DIG of Nepal Police Chhabilal Joshi and 15 others.
The charge sheet alleges that Lamichhane received amounts beyond his salary from the Gorkha Media Network.
GB Rai, the founder of the cooperative and chairperson of the media company, along with 16 others, was earlier charged in the case.
Lamichhane is the former director and managing director of Gorkha Media Network.
With this, cooperative fraud cases have now been filed against Lamichhane in four districts. He has been released on bail by district courts in Kaski, Kathmandu, and Chitwan.
