LUMBINI: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the constitution will be amended as per the changed context.
Speaking at a party program in Lumbini on Tuesday, Thapa said the constitution is a dynamic document and it should be amended as per necessity. He also criticized the current federal system as flawed and advocated for constitutional amendments to implement genuine federalism. He also said that the NC and CPN-UML formed the government to fulfill specific objectives. “I am confident that the current government would last till the next election. There will be no political upheavals until the election,” he added.
Thapa also said NC would curb the disruptive activities of its coalition partner UML.
