KATHMANDU: Constitution Day, 2023, is being celebrated on Wednesday by organizing various programs across the country.
President Ram Chandra Paudel and other prominent personalities were present at the Constitution Day celebration organized at the Tundikhel grounds on Wednesday.
Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Chief Justice Bishwambhar Shrestha, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, Officiating Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Purna Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Prime Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, ministers, chairpersons of various committees of the federal parliament, members of Parliament, heads and officials of different constitutional bodies, heads of diplomatic missions, among others, were present on the occasion.
Colorful balloons and messenger of peace pigeons were flown from the ground, while special units of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force marched past. At the ceremony, cultural tableaus were presented by Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Lalitpur Metropolitan City and Bhaktapur Municipality, while the Constitution Day special issue of ‘Nepal’ bimonthly published by the Department of Information and Broadcasting was released.
Nepal’s first President Dr Ram Baran Yadav promulgated the new constitution on September 20 eight years ago.
