KATHMANDU: A committee formed to search and investigate land and property of Tribhuvan University (TU) submitted its report to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday.
Mahendra Thapa, a member of the committee, presented the report in the presence of Education Minister Bidya Bhattarai and officials of TU.
The cabinet had formed a five-member committee under former Secretary Sharada Prasad Trital on May 31.
Receiving the report, Prime Minister Oli said the government will implement recommendations made by a committee comprising of capable individuals.
Oli is also the Chancellor of TU.
The report includes the status of land at 21 campuses in Kathmandu Valley as well as TU’s land and property in Kirtipur, Naikap, Dhungeadda and Patan. It has also provided recommendations for proper utilization of land and property of the largest university in the country.
It has also recommended referring cases of land misuse to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police.
