KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff General Ashok Raj Sigdel is visiting India from December 11 to 14.
According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of Nepal Army, General Sigdel is embarking on a four-day India visit at the invitation of Indian Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi.
During the visit, General Sigdel will be conferred with the honorary rank of General of the Indian Army by the President of India.
General Dwivedi was conferred with the honorary rank of General of Nepal Army during his visit to Kathmandu on November 5-24.
Nepal and India have a tradition of decorating army chiefs of each other’s country with the honorary title for the past many decades.
