KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary, Gagan Kumar Thapa, has said that even a coalition of two major parties has failed to meet public expectations.
Speaking at a program in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Thapa accused the government of moving at a ‘tractor’s pace’ and lacking enthusiasm, dedication and dynamic leadership.
“There is no need to change the system to address people’s concerns because the real issue lies in the leadership style,” Thapa said, adding that either the leadership approach or the leadership itself must change to address people’s grievances.
Thapa said problems have been seen in the economy as middlemen have access even to the Prime Minister’s bedroom. “We are hearing people label Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor hopefuls as ‘middlemen’s candidate’. This does not bode well for the economy,” Thapa said.
He added that NC must instill confidence in the people by demonstrating its ability to resolve the nation’s issues.
