KATHMANDU: Choodamani Chapagain has been appointed as the CEO of the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse).
The cabinet meeting held on Monday appointed Chapagain to the position.
Chapagain, who hails from Jhapa, previously served as the Deputy General Manager of Sanima Reliance Insurance Company. He succeeds Krishna Bahadur Karki whose term ended on February 7.
The cabinet picked Narad Luitel for the position last week. However, the decision was not recorded in the meeting minutes, rendering it invalid.
Chapagain has already received an appointment letter from Revenue Secretary Dinesh Kumar Ghimire.
A recommendation committee led by Joint Secretary Sebantak Pokharel had shortlisted Chapagain and Luitel, as well as Purna Prasad Acharya, Badri Prasad Pyakurel, and Hemanta Basyal for the position.
