KATHMANDU: Attacking midfielder Torric Jebrin scored late in injury time to give Chitwan FC its second win in as many matches in the 2025 Nepal Super League (NSL) at Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on Friday.
The match against Butwal Lumbini FC seemed headed for a draw after Chitwan’s well-taken free kicks failed to find the net. However, Jebrin’s low-driven shot from outside the box in injury time beat Butwal Lumbini keeper Deep Karki and nestled into the far post.
This is Butwal Lumbini’s second loss in three games. It played a goalless draw against Jhapa FC in the first match but suffered a 1-4 defeat against Dhangadhi FC in the second.
The win lifted Chitwan to the top of the table. It had defeated Pokhara Thunders 2-0 in its first match.
Butwal Lumbini had the opportunity to take the lead in the 40th minute. However, Arik Bista’s free kick from 39 yards hit the post, and Butwal Lumbini’s players failed to capitalize on the rebound.
Chitwan created its best opportunity in the 54th minute, but Butwal Lumbini keeper Deep Karki managed to deflect Nodir Mavlonov’s shot onto the post with his fingertips.
In the 76th minute, Victor Mansaray’s shot off substitute Yusuf Mallik’s pass was headed to safety by Butwal Lumbini’s Suman Shrestha.
