KATHMANDU: The Chinese government has decided to provide an additional 15 million RMB (equivalent to Rs 260 million) worth of humanitarian assistance for the earthquake survivors in Nepal.
In a social media post on platform X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song stated that this assistance is being offered to aid Nepal in its earthquake relief efforts.
Furthermore, Ambassador Song mentioned that the Red Cross Society of China is contributing $100,000 (equivalent to Rs 13 million) in emergency cash assistance to Nepal.
Previously, China had provided disaster relief materials worth Rs 100 million from the China South Asia Countries Emergency Supplies Center.
The earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.4, struck at 11:47 pm on Friday and has resulted in the loss of 157 lives in Jajarkot and Rukum districts of Karnali Province.
