Charred body recovered from Bhat-Bhateni’s Koteshwar outlet; death toll rises to 74

KATHMANDU: A charred body has been recovered from the ruins of Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket in Koteshwar.

SP Apil Raj Bohora, the spokesperson for the District Police Range Kathmandu, told Himal Press over the phone on Wednesday that the body was found in a burnt state.

The deceased has been identified as Bikash Rasaili (22), a permanent resident of Khadadevi Rural Municipality-6 in Ramechhap, currently residing in Chyasal of Lalitpur.

With this, the death toll from the Gen Z protests has reached 74.

Previously, seven charred bodies were recovered at the Bhat-Bhateni outlet in Chuchchepati. The remains are currently kept at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, and have yet to be identified, according to police.
