KATHMANDU: Police have filed d a case Acharya Shreeniwas at the Dhanusha District Court for an offence against public tranquility.
Addressing a protest meeting in Janakpurdham a week ago, Acharya allegedly used words that could incite communal violence, the police say.
District Police Office, Sunsari, had arrested Shreeniwas from Chakraghatti area of Barahakshetra Municipality of Sunsari on Tuesday. He was subsequently transferred to the District Police Office, Dhanusha, for further investigation.
Police say Shreeniwas has admitted that he made a mistake.
