KATHMANDU: Each franchise of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) received Rs 20.23 million in profit sharing from the second edition of the tournament held last year.
The income and expenditure report, presented by the NPL Governing Council at a Central Executive Committee meeting of the Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) on Tuesday, shows that the league generated a total gross revenue of Rs 473.6 million. Total tournament expenses stood at Rs 219.6 million, leaving a gross income of Rs 253.99 million before revenue sharing.
As per the revenue-sharing model, 50% of the distributable revenue, amounting to Rs 161.87 million, was allocated to the eight franchises. The remaining Rs 92.12 million was retained by CAN.
The NPL features eight teams: Biratnagar Kings, Janakpur Bolts, Kathmandu Gurkhas, Chitwan Rhinos, Pokhara Avengers, Lumbini Lions, Karnali Yaks, and Sudurpashchim Royals.
