KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has called 22 players for a closed camp training for the upcoming Cricket World Cup League (WCL) 2 matches against Canada and Oman.
Rohit Paudel (Captain), Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Anil Sah, Dev Khanal, Bhim Sarki, Aarif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, Arjun Saud, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Gulshan Kumar Jha, Kamal Singh Airee, Rijan Dhakal, Sandeep Lamichhane, Lalit Rajbanshi, Surya Tamang, Basir Ahmad, Akash Chand, Sagar Dhakal, and Sundeep Jora have been included in the camp list, according to a statement issued by CAN on Sunday.
Canada is hosting the tri-series in September. The dates, however, have not been finalized. Before this, Canada will travel to the Netherlands for a tri-series which also includes the US.
This will be Nepal’s second tri-series of the WCL 2. It hosted Namibia and the Netherlands in February. Nepal lost both matches against Namibia, while it won one against the Netherlands.
Scotland leads the WCL 2 table with nine points from seven games. Canada is second with eight points from four games, while Namibia is third with eight points from as many games. Nepal is sixth on the table with two points from four matches.
