
FileKATHMANDU: The cabinet has directed the Ministry of Home Affairs to investigate the incidents of vandalism, arson, and casualties that occurred during the pro-monarchy protest in Kathmandu on Friday.
Government Spokesperson and the Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, said after the emergency cabinet meeting that a decision has been made to instruct the Ministry of Home Affairs to investigate the truth behind Friday’s incident, take action against the guilty and devise plans to prevent such incidents in the future.”
The meeting also decided to provide free treatment for the injured, according to Gurung.
The meeting also condemned the incident as anarchic and violent, urging the public not to participate in such activities.
Two people, including a TV journalist died during the protest.
