KATHMANDU: Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has instructed domestic carriers to revise the fuel surcharge in line with the drop in the price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF).
In a message posted on its official page on Tuesday, CAAN directed airline companies to reduce the fuel surcharge with effect from Wednesday.
Domestic airlines will have to adjust the fuel surcharge levied on air tickets if the price of ATF sees significant changes.
Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) on Tuesday reduced the price of ATF by Rs 10 per liter to Rs 160 per liter.
The decision means airfare for Biratnagar-Nepalgunj sector – the longest domestic route which takes 100 minutes – will come down by Rs 535. Similarly, airfare for mountain flights will come down by Rs 345.
