KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has said that counting of votes in all three constituencies will begin from Sunday itself.
The EC held by-election in three vacant seats of House of Representatives – Bara-2, Chitwan-2 and Tanahun -1 – on Sunday.
Surya Prasad Aryal, deputy spokesperson for the EC, said vote counting locations for all the three cosntituencies have already been readied. We are working to bring the final results at the earliest, Aryal added.
The Tanahun-1 was seat vacated with the election of Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker to the position of President, while Bara-2 became vacant with the election of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) lawmaker Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav to the post of Vice President.
Similarly, Chitwan-2 became vacant after the Supreme Court ruled Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Rabi Lamichhane ineligible to hold public office.
