KATHMANDU: A total of 36 candidates have filed their nominations for the by-election in Bara-2 seat of the House of Representatives.
According to the District Election Office, Bara, 36 candidates, including 24 independent candidates, registered their nominations by office hours on Monday.
The Election Commission is holding by-elections Bara-2 as well as Tanahun-1 and Chitwan-2 seats of the House of Representatives on April 23.
The Bara-2 seat became vacant with the election of Ramasahaya Prasad Yadav to the post of Vice President.
Upendra Yadav of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), Shiva Chandra Kushbaha of Janamat Party, Ramesh Kharel of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Purushottam Paudel of CPN-UML are among the candidates who filed nominations on Monday.
