KATHMANDU: Buddha Air Monday announced that it would operate scheduled flights to three Indian destinations from Pokhara International Airport which is in the final leg of construction.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has said that the international airport in Pokhara will come into operation from January 1, 2023.

According to the airline, it will initially operate three flights a week on the Pokhara-Varanasi-Pokhara sector on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The government is holding talks with the Indian government for air traffic service route for the same, the airline said in the statement. Likewise, the airline plans to fly to New Delhi and Dehradun from Pokhara.

According to the airline, it plans to fly two times a week to New Delhi and three times a week of Dehradun.

Dehradun doesn’t have an international airport yet.

Buddha Air is currently operating scheduled flights on Kathmandu-Varanasi-Kathmandu sector.
