KATHMANDU: The Confederation of Nepali Teachers (CNT) has urged school principals, teachers and staff not to participate in the Grade 12 annual examination scheduled to begin from Thursday.
Issuing a statement on Tuesday, CNT expressed serious concern over reports that officials from the National Examination Board (NEB) and District Administration Offices have been pressuring and threatening teachers and principals at designated exam centers to conduct the examinations.
“Our protest in Kathmandu for the past 21 days has seen widespread participation. To strengthen this campaign and push for immediate enactment of a School Education Bill to uphold the interests of schools, students and teachers, we urge all to refrain from participating in the examination process under any circumstances,” the statement said.
The CNT has also requested exam center supervisors to join the ongoing protests in Kathmandu.
