KATHMANDU: The body of an 18-year-old youth, who went missing about one and a half months ago in Dudhpokhari pond in Lamjung, has been recovered by an Armed Police Force (APF) diving team.
According to police, Manoj Gurung of Bhujung in Kwholasothar Rural Municipality-4, had gone missing on Janai Purnima festival while bathing at the sacred lake.
On Friday, a rescue team from the Armed Police Force (APF) including four divers from APF No. 24 Battalion, Kalika, Pokhara, was deployed to the site with the support of an Air Dynasty helicopter. The team managed to recover Gurung’s decomposed body on Saturday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shailendra Thapa, the assistant spokesperson for the APF, said the body has been handed over to the deceased’s elder brother.
