Bodies of six Doramba landslide victims handed over to families

KATHMANDU: The bodies of six people who died in a landslide in Doramba of Shailung Rural Municipality-3 of Ramechhap have been returned to their families.

According to Kushal Neupane, the information officer at the District Police Office, Ramechhap, the injured have been sent to Kathmandu for treatment, while the bodies of the deceased have been given to their relatives after examination.

The search for the missing four persons is underway, he added.

The landslide on Saturday night claimed the lives of Chandika Shrestha (30), her 18-month-old son Ayush, Urmila Pahari (57), Sandip Pahari (30), Santosh Pahari (11) and Bigyan Pahari (14).

According to police, the landslide swept away three houses and buried one.
