Blasting work underway to resume traffic on Karnali Highway

JUMLA: Engineers of Nepal Army have begun using explosives to break large boulders on the Nagma-Rachuli section of Karnali Highway.

The blasting work began on Thursday. According to Rabin Thapa, chief of Nandabox Battalion of the Nepal Army, 10 large boulders have already been broken so far.

The blasting work is going on in joint collaboration with Nepal Army and Division Road Office, Jumla.

“A team of 50 soldiers has been deputed for blasting under the leadership of Lieutenant Santosh,” said Thapa.

Rajiv Shrestha, chief of the Division Road Office, Jumla, said they have started using explosives to break boulders that cannot be removed by excavators.
