Bishwambar Prasad Shrestha appointed Chief Justice

KATHMANDU: Bishwambar Prasad Shrestha has been appointed as the Chief Justice.

President Ram Chandra Poudel appointed Shrestha to the post on Monday evening.

The Constitutional Council nominated Shrestha for the top post in the Nepali judiciary on August 3. His nomination was unanimously approved by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee earlier on the day.

Shrestha will remain in office till October 6 next year.
