Biratnagar Kings to face Janakpur Bolts in the inaugural match of NPL

KATHMANDU: Biratnagar Kings will face Janakpur Bolts in the inaugural match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

According to the tournament fixtures published by the NPL on Monday, the league-round matches will run from November 30 to December 16.

The NPL features eight city-based franchises: Biratnagar Kings, Janakpur Bolts, Kathmandu Gurkhas, Chitwan Rhinos, Pokhara Avengers, Lumbini Lions, Karnali Yaks, and Sudurpashchim Royals.

Each team will play against every other team once in the group stage. The top four teams after the league stage will qualify for the play-offs. The first and second-placed teams will compete in the first qualifier on December 18. While the winning team will qualify for the Final, the losing team from the first qualifier will face the winner of the eliminator between the third and fourth-placed teams in the second qualifier. The winner of the second qualifier will also qualify for the final.

The final is scheduled for December 21. All matches will be held at the TU International Cricket Ground.

The NPL has partnered with Star Sports as the official broadcaster of the event.
