KATHMANDU: Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Purna Bahadur Khadka awarded the best educational institutions in the country on Tuesday as part of the National Education Day, 2023 celebrations.
The awards were presented to community and institutional schools based on their outstanding performance in the Secondary Education Examination of 2022, technical schools recommended by the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), and constituent, community and private colleges based on the evaluation carried out by the University Grants Commission.
Likewise, the Social Welfare Education Award, established this year, was also handed out on the occasion.
While the top three schools received cash prizes of Rs 300,000, Rs 200,000 and Rs 100,000, respectively, the best technical schools received cash prizes of Rs 100,000 each. Similarly, the best colleges received Rs 250,000 each, while recipients of Social Welfare Education Awards received a cash prize of Rs 300,000 each.
