Be vigilant and exercise caution, Nepalis in UK told

KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Nepal in London has advised Nepali citizens to exercise caution while visiting riot-hit cities in the United Kingdom.

“In the context of the recent incidents of violent protests and riots in different cities of the UK, the embassy urges all Nepali citizens currently residing in the United Kingdom and prospective visitors to stay vigilant and take extra caution while visiting those places,” a notice to Nepali citizens residing and visiting the UK on Tuesday reads.

The embassy also said that it was closely monitoring the recent situation. “We would like to advise all to follow the news and advisories issued by the local agencies and to avoid crowded areas, large gatherings, and those areas where the protests are underway,” the notice added.

It has also advised Nepali citizens to contact the embassy at +44(0)2072291594 in case of emergency.
