Bamdev Gautam inches closer to unification with Unified Socialist

KATHMANDU: Bamdev Gautam, chairperson of the CPN Unity National Campaign, has said he reached an understanding with CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal for party unity.

Speaking to journalists after holding discussions with Nepal regarding party unification on Thursday, Gautam said the two leaders will formally announce party unification soon. “Madhav ji and I have agreed to unite. There is an agreement to move forward with mutual understanding between both parties for unification. We will inform you how the unification happened on the day it occurs,” he said.

Responding to a question on the possible inclusion of Bhim Rawal in the unification process, Gautam said Unified Socialist Chairperson Nepal would be able to answer that question.

Gautam also said he left UML voluntarily and that he was never oppressed by its Chairperson KP Sharma Oli or other leaders like Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Madhav Kumar Nepal or Jhalnath Khanal when they were together in the Nepal Communist Party.
