KATHMANDU: National Assembly Member Bamdev Gautam has said that he is ready to return to CPN-UML.
Speaking to journalists on the National Assembly premises on Wednesday, Gautam said he would happily return to the party if CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli invites him.
Gautam’s statement came after CPN-UML suspended the 70-year age limit to become central committee members of the party.
“If the age limit provision is suspended, my friends and I will return to UML. They (UML leaders) brought this provision targeting us,” he said. “If they ask me to come back to the party, I will return.”
Gautam claimed that although he is currently not with the UML, his party membership is still active.
“If the age limit has been suspended targeting me, I will go and contribute to the betterment of the party,” Gautam added.
Gautam also said he does not harbor a wish to become the party chairman or general secretary. “I have no such interest. If I return to the UML, it will be to share my experiences,” he added.
