KATHMANDU: Balaju area of the Ring Road remained tense throughout Monday due to a protest of transport workers.
Transport workers parked their buses and trucks on the road to protest high fines and other atrocities of the traffic police. The irate workers set two police vans on fire and also burnt a temporary police beat. Police have fired few rounds of tear gas shells to disperse the crowd.
Vehicular movements have come to a standstill at Gongngabu, New Buspark, Machhapokhari and Balaju areas on the Ring Road.
