KATHMANDU: Minister for Interior Affairs and Law of Sudurpashchim Province, Prithvi Bahadur Singh, who was injured in a car accident in Bajhang, passed away during treatment on Tuesday.
Issued a statement, Nepalgunj Medical Colledge said Minister Singh breathed his last at 5:33 pm. “Minister Singh and two other injured individuals were brought to Nepalgunj Medical College at 4:58 pm. Minister Singh had no pulse and heartbeat. Despite artificial respiration interventions such as CPR and DC Shock, his condition could not be improved,” the medical college stated. “The condition of the two other injured individuals, Dharmaraj Joshi (35) and Dipendra Bhandari (35), is stable. They are currently receiving treatment at the emergency department.”
Minister Singh was elected to the Sudurpashchim Province Assembly from the Bajhang 1(A) constituency in the election held in November last year. He was appointed as a minister on May 20.
All five individuals in Minister Singh’s entourage were injured when the car they were traveling in met with an accident at Dharchhada in Kedarsyun Rural Municipality. The car veered off the road and fell 50 meters down onto the banks of the Kalanga River.
