KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader and Member of the House of Representatives, Rajendra Bajgain, has apologized to tourism minister and party colleague Badri Prasad Pandey.
Bajgain had taken to different social media platforms to accuse Minister Pandey of taking millions in commission while approving casino licenses. Pandey subsequently filed complaints against Bajgain with NC’s parliamentary party and disciplinary committee.
After the complaints were filed, the party demanded an explanation and evidence of the claim he made on social media from Bajgain.
Bajgain posted his apology on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “I had a discussion with General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Discipline Committee Coordinator Ananda Dhungana at the central office regarding my statements on X and Facebook. I learned that my allegations deeply hurt the Minister, therefore I withdraw those defamatory statements. I also apologize for any pain caused to his family members.”
