KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Shalikram Jamma Kattel has passed the floor test.
In the confidence vote held at the Bagmati Province Assembly on Friday, Jammakattel got the support of 67 assembly members. Seventeen province assembly members voted against him, while seven members abstained.
Only 91 assembly members were present in the confidence vote in the 110-member province assembly.
Jammakattel took a vote of confidence after Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) withdrew its support extended to the coalition government. UML withdrew its support before the confidence vote.
Maoist Center, UML and RPP formed the province government on January 10.
Jammakattel got the support of Nepali Congress and other members of the ruling coalition formed at the center.
