Bagmati Province Chief invites parties to submit claims to form government

KATHMANDU: Yadav Chandra Sharma, the Province Chief of Bagmati, has invited parties in the Bagmati Province Assembly to make a claim to form a new government.

Issuing a statement, the Office of the Province Chief has called on parties to make the claim as per Article 168 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015, by 5 pm on Tuesday.

The Province Chief made the call after Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel tendered his resignation on Sunday, having lost the majority in the province assembly.

As per the understanding reached between the Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center), Bahadur Singh Lama, the parliamentary party leader of NC in the Bagmati Province Assembly, will become Bagmati’s next Chief Minister.
