KATHMANDU: At least eight people died when a jeep met with an accident in Palata of Kalikot district on Sunday afternoon.
According to Alaipura Jaisi, the vice chairperson of Palata Rural Municipality. “The jeep heading from Ward-5 met with an accident near Raduneta in Ward-3,” she said. “Eight people died, while six have been rescued by a Nepal Army helicopter.”
DSP Narayan Dangi of the District Police Office, Kalikot, said the jeep, which was heading to Ramanakot from Thirthtu, fell off the road at around 3:30 pm.
Pictures shared on social media show the wreckage of the jeep some 300 meters below the road.
