Asian Games: Nepal crashes out in group stage of men’s volleyball

KATHMANDU: The Nepali national men’s volleyball team has been eliminated from the Men’s Volleyball event at the Asian Games.

In its second match of the continental championship, Nepal suffered its second defeat in a match against Iran in straight sets. Iran secured victory over Nepal with scores of 25-9, 25-14, and 25-13.

Earlier, Nepal had faced a 1-3 defeat against Bahrain in its first match of the Asian Games. While Nepal claimed the first set with a score of 25-20, it lost three consecutive sets with scores of 20-25, 18-25, and 15-25.

Nepal was in Group ‘B’ along with Iran and Bahrain.

The Asian Games which is being held in Hangzhou, China, will be officially inaugurated on September 23.
