RSP Vice President DP Aryal
KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Vice President Dol Prasad Aryal has urged the party’s newly-elected lawmakers to fulfil their responsibilities while upholding the hopes and trust of the people.
Addressing the inaugural session of an orientation and introductory program for RSP leaders elected to the House of Representatives in Lalitpur on Tuesday, Aryal highlighted the need to work in the interest of the nation and the Nepali people. “There is a need to form a government that delivers results people can feel, end corruption, and ensure good governance. The current situation is the result of the wrongdoings of political parties that have led the country for a long time,” he said. “This has made our party and elected representatives more responsible and accountable.”
Another Vice President Dr Swarnim Wagle, also said that public trust reflected in the near two-thirds mandate secured with 48% of the votes must be upheld. “The main slogan of our election manifesto is to establish a system, and we must demonstrate this through action,” he said. “The people have entrusted us with responsibility because they believe we can deliver. We must prove that through honest work.”
Wagle also called on lawmakers to honor what he described as the largest public mandate since 1959 by effectively fulfilling their legislative role—raising public concerns and, if necessary, opposing wrong actions taken by their own government.
According to the RSP General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, the program was organized to orient lawmakers on parliamentary practices, legislative procedures, policymaking, and the role of parliamentary committees.
