KATHMANDU: Commuters on the busy New Baneshwar-Babarmahal road section were taken aback on Friday morning when they saw a truck hauling a rather unusual cargo – a chopper.
The truck was ferrying the chopper from Tribhuvan International Airport to Nepal Army headquarters in Bhdrakali for a military exhibition.
According to army sources, the chopper with the call sign NA-033, however, is currently not in flying condition as it is undergoing repairs.
Although Nepal doesn’t have a dedicated airforce, the Nepal Army operates a fleet of three fixed-wing and five rotary-wing aircraft.
