
KATHMANDU: Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal has taken departmental action against 120 APF personnel violating organizational directives who uploaded photos and videos of themselves performing various activities in uniform on social media.
The personnel had posted photos and videos wearing APF uniforms on their personal social media profiles on Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, among others. Those facing action include four Sub-Inspectors, five Assistant Sub-Inspectors, six Senior Head Constables, three Head Constables, nine Assistant Head Constables, 91 Constables, and two followers.
Issuing a statement, the APF Nepal said one Senior Head Constable’s promotion has been blocked for a year. Likewise, four personnel – one Sub-Inspector, one Assistant Head Constable, and two Constables – have been warned against such activities in the future. Similarly, two Assistant Sub-Inspectors, two Assistant Head Constables and one Constable have received verbal warnings.
The APF Nepal has formed a social media monitoring branch to regulate any personnel of any rank who act against organizational rules.
Additionally, the APF Nepal Headquarters has directed subordinate offices to take departmental action against 28 personnel who uploaded inappropriate photos and videos on social media.
