KATHMANDU: DSP Yukesh Upreti of the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal has completed a Mechi–Mahakali cycling journey.
According to a statement issued by APF Nepal, Upreti started his journey on November 10 from the country’s eastern border at Mechi Bridge of Jhapa to study Nepal’s border geography and understand the concerns of border communities. He concluded the journey at the country’s western border at Gaddachauki of Kanchanpur on Sunday after covering approximately 1,440 kilometres in 30 days.
Officials of different government offices, APF personnel and personnel of India’s Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB) were at Gaddachauki when Upreti concluded his journey.
During the journey, DSP Upreti visited 186 Border Out Posts (BOPs) of the APF Nepal across 21 border districts in six provinces, conducted on-site assessments, and gathered information on local conditions, the APF Nepal added in the statement.
