KATHMANDU: An Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal Assistant Sub-Inspector died in a road accident in Ramechhap district on Monday morning.
According to a statement issued by the APF Nepal, ASI Parshuram Yadav died on the spot when a vehicle carrying election materials met with an accident at Sirubari in Ramechhap Municipality-2 on Monday.
Seven others were injured in the accident.
The vehicle, which was transporting election materials and staff from Manthali to the Kalika Devi Secondary School and Deurali Secondary School polling centers, veered off the road and plunged nearly 200 meters downhill.
“A total of 11 people were on board the vehicle. Of them, three jumped out of the vehicle before it fell. Seven others sustained injuries in the crash,” DSP Shailedra Thapa, joint spokesperson for the APF Nepal, said.
A rescue team from the APF Disaster Management Base in Khurkot was deployed to the site for rescue purposes. The team sent the injured to the district headquarters in Manthali for treatment.
