KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has been honored with the AFC Member Association of the Year Award in the Gold category at the recent Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Annual Awards.
The award was presented to ANFA President Pankaj Bikram Nembang, according to ANFA. According to ANFA, it was selected for the award for continuing to maintain the highest standards of good governance by developing its Statutes and Codes in line with the guiding principles of FIFA and the AFC.
“Transparency and accountability have been established as the key tenets of the ANFA with its official website providing key information including the Association’s Statutes, electoral code, audited financial statements, internal organization regulations, key decisions, circulars, strategic plans and Congress agenda,” it added.
The AFC Annual Awards also recognized the achievements of other football associations in the region. The Japan Football Association was awarded in the Platinum category, while Thailand’s Football Association received the Diamond award.
