KATHMANDU: Ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh Ghanashyam Bhandari paid a courtesy call on the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Ambassador Bhandari congratulated Dr Yunus on his new role and handed over a letter of felicitations from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
According to a statement issued by the Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka, Ambassador Bhandari, during the meeting, reaffirmed Nepal’s solidarity with Bangladesh during its transitional period.
Issues related to strengthening ties between the two countries particularly focusing on enhancing economic cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
On the occasion, Dr Yunus appreciated Nepal’s support and highlighted the importance of energy cooperation in achieving environmental goals, particularly net-zero emissions, the statement added.
