KATHMANDU: An Altitude Air helicopter met with an accident on Wednesday morning in Lobuche in the Everest region in Solukhumbu.

The helicopter took off from Lukla and slipped while attempting to land at Lobuche.

According to Armed Police Force Spokesperson DSP Shailendra Thapa, only the pilot was onboard at the time. He was rescued safely and has already returned to Lukla.

“Since there were no other passengers, the situation did not turn serious. The injured pilot has been brought to Lukla,” Thapa said.

Videos of the accident shared by locals on social media show the helicopter crashing in a snow-covered area.
