All three lawmakers of Dolpa are now minsiters

KATHMANDU: All three lawmakers representing Dolpa district now hold ministerial positions in the federal and provincial governments. Interestingly, all three are from different parties.

Dhan Bahadur Budha, the only member of the House of Representatives from Dolpa, is serving as the Minister for Urban Development in the federal government. Budha is a leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist).

On Tuesday, two provincial assembly members from the district were inducted into the cabinet of Karnali Chief Minister Yam Lal Budha. Sher Bahadur Budha, who was elected to the Karnali Province Assembly from Dolpa-1(B) constituency, has been appointed as the Minister for Physical Infrastructure. Likewise, Bir Bahadur Shahi, who was elected from Dolpa-1 (A) constituency, has been entrusted with the responsibility of the Ministry of Social Development.

Shahi represents the CPN (Maoist Center), while Sher Bahadur Budha is a CPN-UML leader.

The three parties are the members of a new coalition that has formed government in the center as well as provinces.
