KATHMANDU: The National Examination Board (NEB) has said that all preparations for the Secondary Education Examination (SEE), scheduled to begin on April 2, have been completed.
According to Class 10 Examination Controller of the NEB, Tuk Raj Adhikari, a total of 512,421 students from 11,379 schools will sit for the examinations this year.
The exams will run until April 12.
Of the total candidates, 441,566 are appearing under the regular category, while 70,855 are taking the grade improvement exams. The NEB has designated 1,966 examination centers across the country.
The number of female students is higher this year, with 257,613 girls, 254,801 boys, and seven others participating. Additionally, 23 students will take the exam from an examination center in Japan.
Province-wise, 82,487 students are appearing from Koshi, 90,243 from Madhesh, 109,513 from Bagmati, 43,972 from Gandaki, 91,802 from Lumbini, 39,769 from Karnali, and 54,635 from Sudurpaschim.
The Office of the Controller of Examinations has already delivered question papers to all districts across the seven provinces. The papers were printed at Janak Education Materials Centre Limited and transported with the support of security agencies.
Different sets of question papers have been printed for each province for all six compulsory subjects, according to NEB.
