Advance ticket booking open for Dashain [In Pictures]

KATHMANDU: Advance ticket booking from Kathmandu for long and medium routes for the upcoming Dashain festival began on Monday. Tickets for shorter routes, however, will be available from the day of Ghatashapata only i.e. Sunday only, officials say.

The central bus terminal saw a huge footfall of people coming to book bus seats for Dashain celebrations since early Monday morning. Long queues could be seen at counters selling tickets for Darchula, Dadeldhura, Dhangadhi, Tikapur, Bajhang, Bajura, Salyan, Rukum, Puythan, and Rolpa in the west, and Taplejung, Ilam, Kakadvitta and Udayapur in the east.

A large number of people leave Kathmandu for the Dashain celebration every year. Transport entrepreneurs have said they would induct additional buses in the fleet to serve Dashain passengers.
