KATHMANDU: A total of 175 Bangladeshi tourists landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu on Friday.

This is the first batch of 700 tourists, who are employees and associates of  AKIJ Group – one of Bangladesh’s major industrial conglomerates, who are arriving in Nepal this weekend on a four-night, five-day tour. Biman Bangladesh, the national carrier of Bangladesh, is ferrying the group to Kathmandu.

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) accorded a warm welcome to the Bangladeshi nationals upon their arrival at TIA.  This is most probably the largest tourist group visiting Nepal so far.

During their stay, Bangladeshi visitors will explore various tourist destinations in Kathmandu Valley and participate in the Achievers Summit 2023 that AKIJ Group is organizing.

The trip is organized by Mountain Club Tours of Dhaka, while Kathmandu-based Samrat Tour and Travels is the local ground handling agent.
