KATHMANDU: United Kingdom Minister for Veterans and People Calvin Bailey MBE held a courtesy meeting with Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel in London on Thursday.
According to the British Embassy in Kathmandu, the two held a discussion on the friendship between the United Kingdom and Nepal.
During the meeting, Bailey highlighted the strong people-to-people ties between the two countries and reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to its partnership with Nepal.
“We will always be partners,” Bailey said.
He also praised the resilience demonstrated by the Nepali people following the devastating Bhotekoshi floods.
“The UK is supporting Nepal’s response and recovery efforts by working with trusted partners,” the embassy said in a social media post.
CoAS Sigdel is on a weeklong official visit to the United Kingdom at the invitation of the British Army Chief of the General Staff, General Sir Roland Vincent Walker.
General Sigdel is currently on an official visit to the United Kingdom.
